After training in History and teaching for three years, I decided I wanted to focus more on pastoral care, and working on a one-2-one basis. So, I went to work for Black Country Connexions, assisting 16-19 year olds who are in full-time education. My role is to support those students from three local Colleges, who are experiencing personal and social difficulties, from homelessness and substance misuse to peer pressure and bullying. In general, I’m their agony aunt! I love the job and my client group, although it’s not without its more ‘challenging’ moments.

Hobbies/Interests:

I like to swim as often as I can as I find it really helps me unwind. On the weekends I enjoy watching any kind of motor racing, and I try to go to as many races as possible. On Saturdays I can usually be found at my local football club, cheering on my team after working as a ticket collector. Family is also a key part of my life and I try to see them as often as I can.

Favourite food:

Without a doubt, it’s Chinese…or anything homemade!

If I had one wish:

Without stating the obvious, (World peace, eternal happiness and an end to poverty), reality TV would never have been invented!

Hi Pete, Mike and I certainly had a great time at the farewell dinner, and only wished we could have had more time. So when you come out in the summer of 2009, be sure and bring your cap! The Badger Den is quite an explanation, and will be shared with many around the Pratt and Edwards County area. It has been a joy and “magic” time meeting you and your team. Looking forward to when we can meet again. Scott sends his Love…Donna

Sorry, but I forgot to mention if you could email the pictures you took when you were farming. Mike, Tommy and the others would like to have a print. Oh, and me too. Donna
